Desde la Mancha hasta el mundo: el impacto internacional de Don Quijote

Don Quijote ha captado la imaginación y las emociones de los lectores por más de cuatro siglos. Es una obra fundamental de la literatura española y una parte importante del patrimonio cultural peninsular. Pero, con traducciones en más de 140 idiomas diferentes, Don Quijote también ha tenido una gran repercusión en lectores de todo el mundo. La novela presenta muchos temas universales, pero también está muy abierta a interpretación. Por eso, los lectores alrededor del mundo han conectado Don Quijote con sus propias culturas e historias. En este proyecto, quiero explorar el impacto internacional de Don Quijote. En un breve ensayo investigo el legado internacional de la novela en el mundo moderno. Acompaño la parte escrita de un mapa interactivo del mundo en el que marco algunos países en los cuales el Quijote ha tenido un impacto histórico y cultural significativo. Con este proyecto quiero mostrar el gran impacto global de la novela y cómo su legado se mantiene vivo  hoy en día.

Don Quijote has captured the imagination and the emotions of its readers for four centuries. It is a fundamental work of Spanish literature and an important part of the cultural heritage of Spain. However, with translations in more than 140 different languages, Don Quijote has also had a great impact on readers all around the world. The novel presents many universal themes, but is also very open to interpretation. Because of this, people all over the world have connected Quijote with their own cultures and histories. In this project, I want to explore this international impact of Don Quijote. In a brief essay, I will investigate the international legacy and influence of the book in the modern world. To accompany the essay, I will create an interactive online world map that highlights some countries in which Quijote has had a significant cultural or historical impact. With this project, I hope to show the global impact of the novel and how its legacy is still alive today.
